August 20, 2013 – Not Good Weather for Our Climb to High Camp
As you can see from the photos we had a sloppy, wet and cold climb to High Camp. The good news is that as we are going to bed the summit of Ararat is perfectly clear.
We will wake up at 12:30 AM and see what it looks like. If the weather is right we hope to be climbing by 2:00 AM.

We looked up toward the snowcapped summit of Ararat this morning and saw nothing but a lenticular cloud – not a good sign.

We set off climbing in the mist, this was our view for the day.

With Jamal leading; Micheline, Jean Pierre and Carolyn climb higher.

Moving into our tents at High Camp – there are a lot of rocks here!

Mehmet made a wonderful stew for our pre-summit night meal – and Micheline helped.

Things are looking up. After we ate our dinner and as we were going to bed we had the first views of the day. Wish us luck for tomorrow!
