A special thanks again to Micheline and Dennis for their photos!

The iconic Blue Mosque in the heart of the city

Carolyn went prepared for the Mosque, since it is still an active mosque women are required to be covered when entering.

Charles, Susan and Valentine outside of the Blue Mosque

The Basilica Cistern, a very famous cistern in Istanbul that was built in the 6th century and can be found with grand structures; like this upside down Medusa head.

The Hagia Sofia is a structure of architectural wonder in Istanbul.

The design on the inside and outside of the Hagia Sofia demonstrates the periods in history this building has survived.

The Hypodrome – Once the center of Byzantine civic life, from political and pious debates to chariot races, today it is one of the city’s most popular meeting places and promenades.

Charles and Susan, father and daughter on a break from sightseeing

The Grand Bazaar offers many different items for sale and everything is so colorful .

No trip to Istanbul is complete without a visit to the Grand Bazaar, it is a truly unique shopping experience.

Left: Jean Pierre and Roxanne take a rest from sight seeing; Right: Micheline is always seen holding her camera. And we are happy with that since she takes great pictures for us!
