Aconcagua Expedition Dispatch

January 2, 2013 – Our First Carry to Plaza Canada

Today, Jan 2, we will do our first carry to Plaza Canada, our Camp One on the mountain. The elevation at Plaza Canada is 16,108ft (4,910m). Before we start up we took a few minutes to get our medical exams. The physician’s name is Andrea, who has worked here for several years now. It was great to see her again. I am happy to report that our entire team of six checked out with no problems. Neil and Dan both had high oxygen saturations, 87 to 89, and good blood pressure 120 over 80.
