Vinson Expedition Dispatches
Berg Adventures Mt. Vinson Expedition: November 19 – December 6, 2012
Follow polar veteran Wally Berg as he guides climber Vaughan Barlow in their journey to the highest point on the "cold continent." Taking off from the town of Punta Arenas, Chile, the team will board a Russian Iylushin-76 Jet and soar over the Drake Passage. Their flight will take them to Union Glacier, Antarctica where they will make their way to the base of Vinson Massif, and ultimately, scale their way to the summit.
Join us each day as we upload up-to-the-minute coverage of their voyage on the ice.
