November 29, 2012 – Update from High Camp

It’s about 3pm on the 29th, still beautiful weather at High Camp. That word when I was trying to describe how Vaughan said he felt last night was munted, I think that’s what they say in Australia when they’re knackered or exhausted, but you know we rested well and we just heard from the rangers from the summit. They went up to work on the route and they reached the summit at 2pm. We still got good weather. We’re going to walk up a ways, see how the route looks towards the summit because we do have a weather forecast indicating deteriorating weather in the coming days.

Many of you who follow Berg Adventures dispatches know that the last time I was up here with John and Kate Gellert we spent six nights here before we went to the summit, reached the summit successfully on the seventh day, and then came down. We may still be doing something like that, or we may go on Sunday, or who knows we may go pretty high today. But its good weather now, we’re going to get some exercise. We’ll call you as we get a bit higher and give you a report.
