October 30, 2012 – Lukla and Kathmandu: Some Images from the Final Days of Our EBC Trek, Part II

In Lukla, everything centers on the airstrip.

Our lodge was along the side of the airstrip. Gerry took a seat to watch the aircraft coming and going.

All types of fixed wing aircraft came and went through the afternoon.

In the evening after dinner some of the staff began to show us both Sherpa and Nepalese dancing.

Soon we were joining in.

Dance time!

Next morning we were back in Kathmandu. Wendy and Tina strep off our plane. Back in the city!

We had a great dinner on our first night back in Kathmandu at Chez Caroline, one of Kathmandu’s finer restaurants.

A toast to a successful trip.

At the Yak and Yeti famous mountaineering personalities are a common sight in the lobby. Wally enjoyed catching up with Elizabeth Hawley, who has lived in Kathmandu and chronicled international climbing expeditions since 1959.
