Why climb with Berg Adventures

Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch

October 17, 2012 – Recap from Khumjung to Pangboche: Part I

On October 15th we experienced one of the longest trekking days of this trip, from the lodge by Khumjung School to Ang Temba’s Lodge in Pangboche. By the end of the day we were at an elevation of only about 600 feet higher than where we had begun. But along the way we covered more than 9 miles of spectacular mountain trail, we descended, climbed back up thousands of feet when we went all the way down to the Imja Khola River, and then back up the long hill to Tengboche Monastery.

We awoke to a beautiful morning in Khumjung.
