Why climb with Berg Adventures

Elbrus Expedition Dispatch

July 22, 2011 – Getting Ready for the Elbrus Climb

It is now early morning on Saturday and we are up at the Intourist Hotel in Pyitogrsk organizing our equipment for our transfer to the next stage of our Elbrus climb.

Yesterday morning we awoke in our small hut at 10,250 feet to find clear skies all around us. We'd slept very well, listening to rain pound on the tin roof for much of the night, so it was nice to see the blue sky over the peaks in the early morning.

These photos represent some of the peaceful feeling we all had around that around that idyllic little cabin remote in the Caucasus Mountain.

It was cloudy much of the day that we moved up, but the scenery was still spectacular.
