Why climb with Berg Adventures

"Joints In Motion" CARE Team Gokyo Trek Dispatch

November 8, 2009 – Team Hikes to Khumjung

Hi this is Temba calling, we are in Khumjung which is about 12,700 ft above sea level.

Today we walked from Namche around 8:30am and we climbed up to the 14,500ft to a place for the memory of Sir Edmund Hillary and his family. We walked down to Khunde to the Hilllary Hospital. We had lunch in my home in Khunde. My wife Yangzing came to visit us from our lodge in Pangboche and she gave us all a kata (good luck scarf).

After lunch we walked down to visit the Khumjung Monastery, we saw the Yeti scull and then hiked down to the Hillary school to visit the children. After that we went to our lodge in Khumjung. Everybody is doing very well and had an enjoyable day.

Bye for now, Temba
