Why climb with Berg Adventures

Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch

May 11, 2009 – Team Makse Their Way Back to Namche

As we descended from Base Camp, Steve made the comment that the people we’ve met on this trip have been like a “who’s who” of well known mountaineers. One easy going, fun character we met was Apa Sherpa, who has summited Everest 18 times and will try for number 19 in the next few days.

We went all the way to Pangboche on May 10th and we were all very eager to return to Yangzing and Temba’s lodge. Here Yangzing is showing Lida and Calli-Ann her collection of traditional Sherpa housewares.

A new arrival! Temba and Yangzing’s horse delivered a new mare colt about three weeks ago. She is beautiful and a bit wild, so we decided to name her Leila Leila and her mom eating breakfast
