Elbrus Expedition Dispatch
August 10, 2008 – Tomorrow is Our Summit Day
It is 5pm, Sunday, the 10th of August, and the team is going to bed now. We decided that tomorrow will be our best shot for Elbrus. We have been preparing for this for A long, long time. My sense is the weather is going to be good tomorrow, probably better than the days after that. We are settling down now for some rest; before the snow cat pick us up at 4am tomorrow.
We just had a nice mid-afternoon meal; Tamara fixed us fresh vegetable soup, tomato and cucumber salad with feta cheese and stuffed peppers with rice. We had a big meal and now we are all going back to the Barrel to settle down, try to read and relax a little bit. Tomorrow morning i will give you a report as we head up the mountai.; Right now I think the weather is good, I know the team is good, they are ready for this climb.
We are hoping Monday, 11th of August, is our day, I will let you know how it goes.
