Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch
April 22, 2018 – From Thame to Khumjung
The guys are having great weather as they trek through the homeland of the Sherpa people.
After waking up in Thame this morning they began trekking by a different trail out of town, one that led them to the site of the small hydro project that brings electricity to the Khumbu region.
They had lunch along the trial and in the afternoon they arrived at the Khunde Hospital, which serves local people. Khunde Hospital was founded by Sir Edmond Hillary in 1966. The chief physical there is our good friend, Dr Kami Sherpa.
The lodge for tonight is owned by Ang Temba’s brother, Tsering. It is located right across from the Hillary School, which the team visited in the afternoon. There is a lot of history in this region!

Jack enjoys a hot drink in Thame before the trek begins.
