April 28, 2017 – Chris and Mark Made it to the Top of Kala Pattar - Beautiful Views of Everest
Ang Temba called us Friday with the exciting news that the team reached the summit of 18,555-foot high Kala Pattar this afternoon.
After enjoying the walk along the Glacial Moraine into the village of Gorak Shep the guys took a lunch break and then continued climbing all the way to the top.
Even though there were clouds around they had views of Everest the whole way up.
The Himalayan Lodge at Gorak Shep is 16,800 feet above sea level. Tomorrow the team will go to Everest Base Camp!

As you approach Gorak Shep, the beautiful mountain, Pumori, looms above the trail

Finally Gorak Shep comes into view. This is the last outpost before Everest Base Camp.

There's Everest above us! Beautiful views on the way up Kala Pattar
