April 30, 2016 – Lunch With the Icefall Doctors at Everest Base Camp

Garv and Kylie made it to Base Camp! Temba reported to us on Saturday that the weather was still great. You will be able to see from these photos that indeed it was.

Farther and daughter both looked great from Base Camp. Yesterday they had climbed above Gorak Shep to the mid level view points of Everest from Kala Patar.

Today they started early and arrived at Base Camp in the late morning. What an honor for them to be invited into the “SPCC” – (Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee) camp operated by the famous “Icefall Doctor” team who do all the work to establish and maintain the difficult and dangerous route through the Khumbu Icefall.

Congratulations on reaching your goal Mark and Kylie Garvin. We look forward to hearing more stories from you as you descend to lower altitudes and visit with friends along the trail back to Lukla and Kathmandu.

We made it to Base Camp, 17,500 feet!

The SPCC Camp is right in the middle of all the action at Base Camp and was a perfect place to have lunch.
