Aconcagua Expedition Dispatch
January 22, 2015 – Recap of a Great Expedtion
The Team has departed Argentina, bound for Canada and home after a great adventure.
They are spending today in the city of Santiago, Chile, exploring a bit, before boarding their midnight flights for the US then on home to Vancouver.
While they are still enjoying time together, we would like to share some photos which recap the great times and the high altitude success that this amazing team of friend shared on Aconcagua
The Beauty of Aconcagua. Captured by Osvaldo at the Confluencia Camp.
On the first day of acclimatization we stood together at the crest of the Andes Mountains on the Chile – Argentina border
Hiking up the Playa Ancha on the way to Plaza de Mulas (we were glad to have the helicopter ride that whisked us over this long route in 8 minutes when we departed!)
The restaurant where we took our meals and relaxed during the days that we stayed at Plaza de Mulas.
Not a bad place to hang.
Plaza Canada, at 5060 meters above sea level was our Camp I on the mountain.

We took our meals in the “Big Agnes” tent which we carried to Camp I and also to Camp II.

Big load going downhill. We were glad to have our amazing Bolivian team do the work of carrying loads of waste and equipment off the mountain.
