Aconcagua Expedition Dispatch
January 20, 2015 – Helicopter Rides over the Harcones Valley
We woke up this morning anticipating an early morning helicopter ride. However the weather was not encouraging. The Harcones Valley was filled with clouds. However at 8:15 the pilot had gotten in under the clouds. Off we were from Plaza de Mulas on the first flight. It was an incredible morning and a great end to our time in Aconcagua Provincial Park.
It is really hard to believe that a few days ago Doug, Chuck Osvaldo, Sergio and Maria were on the summit of Aconcagua, Gord, Leah and I at Berlin camp and Rob and Elaine in Buenos Aires. Now, we are all reunited in sunny Mendoza preparing for our celebratory dinner. What an expedition!
