Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch
October 27, 2014 – From Khumjung to Tangboche Monastery
This is Ang Temba. We started from Khumjung at 8:00 AM this morning. As you can see from these photos, the weather is still beautiful. At the beginning of the trek we had great views of Ama Dablam, Kantega and Tamserku.
We reached Tangboche for lunch and from there we had beautiful vies of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse.
We also visited the Monastery at Tangboche. Mani Rimdu Festival is coming soon and the monk are working on the Mandala paintings. Tiny pieces of colored sand are used. At the end of the Festival these beautiful works will be thrown into the wind, a symbol of impermanence.
Everybody is doing great. We arrived in Highland Sherpa Resort Lodge at 4000 meters by 3:00 PM.
