Berg Adventures 2013 Everest Expedition Dispatch

May 19, 2013 – Everybody Is Back at Base Camp

It is May 19th, Sunday - Day 50th of the expedition. We are all back at Base Camp safely. It seems surreal that it has come to end so quickly, but many times during the climb, all of us have felt the many peoples’ thoughts guiding us and supporting us along the way.

We will spend the rest of the day packing up our gear and getting things ready and then we will head down valley. It will take us at least 3 days hiking through the Khumbu Valley until we get to Lukla and hopefully, the next day, we will be able to fly to Kathmandu. We are all looking forward to coming home and seeing everyone. It’s been a long, long, expedition. I hope that, through these dispatches, we have been able to keep people connected and have you follow along; I am looking forward to seeing everyone when I get home.
