March 25, 2013 – Exploring Kathmandu
We took off early in the morning from the Yak and Yeti to hit the “big three” religious sites in the Kathmandu Valley, Swayambunath, Boudanath and Pashupatinath.
Here are some images of our team in the fascinating city of Kathmandu.

Katie checks out a very special bowl.
Todd says that it works!
Later Todd lit butter lamps inside the monastery.
Next we traveled to the Hindu temple, Pashupatinath, brother and sis, Daniel and Katie were hanging with the holy men.
A familiar Kathmandu face if there ever was one.

Our last stop on our morning tour was Boudanath, the largest Buddhist Stupa in this part of Asia and a cultural and religious center for Sherpas.

After a whirlwind morning, we had lunch at the Hyatt Hotel near Boudanath – as Wally spoke about the logistics of getting ourselves to the mountains tomorrow, the group seemed intent, focused on backpacks and warm clothing for a change. Soon we will be on our way to the Khumbu!
