Aconcagua Expedition Dispatch
December 28, 2012 – Preparing for Confluencia Camp
So we returned to the hotel after a while, and while Sergio and Maria are packing the food and expedition supplies to be put on to the mules, we’ll prepare our duffle bags to go with the mules and we’ll take them this afternoon back to the corral. We’ll go to bed tonight in the hotel for one last night simply with our daypacks ready for our first day walking to Confluencia Camp within Aconcagua Provincial Park. Here we go! The altitudes are going to get higher, the winds stronger no doubt, and we’re feeling up for this climb. The challenges that lie ahead will be interesting. We’ll look forward to reporting to you each day about our progress as we work towards our summit of Aconcagua—the summit of the Americas.
