Ecuador Volcanoes Expedition Dispatch
November 9, 2011 – SpaceX Team on the Go
Hi this is Osvaldo calling from Cayambe Hut. We packed our bags very carefully this morning because, with all the rain, we figured the odds of the car making it all the way to the hut were small. The plan was to drive as close to the hut as possible and then to walk the remaining distance.
We arrived at 6:30 here. The weather was not that good – it was snowing a lot. But now we are in the refuge and it is very warm here. We have a very cozy place to stay here and we are the only team here. We are just waiting for supper and then after that we will go to bed. I will call you tomorrow with another report about our trip in Ecuador. We will practice some climbing techniques tomorrow and Joaquin and I will check the terrain and hope for the weather to remain stable. Fingers crossed for the team!
