Lobuche Peak Expedition Dispatch

October 24, 2011 – Arriving at Lobuche Base Camp

Today we left the comfort of our lodge and the company of our trekking team to embark on another adventure – the climb of Lobuche Peak. We arrived at Lobuche Base Camp early today and it is very beautiful here. Berg Adventures has always loved this camp.

DaSona met us here and Jayta is with us as our cook and as our support team. It was sad to say goodbye to the others, but we are looking forward to our climb. Our elevation here is 14,110ft/4300m and from our camp we are looking out at Cholotse and Towache. When we came around the corner and saw the stunning blue lake just below base camp Raquel began to cry because of the unmatched beauty of this place.
