Vinson Expedition Dispatch
December 16, 2010 – Back to the Mainland
The flight out of Antarctica went as planned and we boarded the Ilyushin jet on Monday night. Four and a half hours later we landed in Punta Arenas, Chile and went to the hotel to catch a few hours of sleep before John and Kate had to fly home. It was an exhausting night, but we were very grateful that the weather cooperated long enough for us to fly out.
We will post more photos and a final wrap-up soon, but for now I will leave you with a few photos of our final days in Antarctica.
