November 10, 2010 – Team Arrives at Cayambe Hut

We left the Hacienda Cusin yesterday morning at 11:30 am and we stopped for a delicious lunch in Cayambe and had the opportunity to shop for some fresh food for the climb. The team also took a little time to check out the local market and see the different offerings in this small town of Cayambe.

We left later in the afternoon and arrived at our hut where we will spend the next couple of days. When we arrived at the hut, we met 12 other climbers who will attempt to climb Cayambe tonight. The weather has been wet with rain and snow, looking at Mt. Cayambe right now, it is in the clouds. We are hoping the weather will improve for our summit attempt.

We have just settled down for a nice dinner and are off to bed for a good night’s rest.
