May 13, 2009 – Team Bids Farewell to Namche
.What is it really like along the trail to Everest Base Camp with Berg Adventures? Perhaps this is best told by this photo of Calli-Ann and Lida in their room early this morning after coffee was served
The weather has been unsettled, with a lot of rain and snow yesterday and some clouds about this morning. But Min called us from Lukla at 7:20 a.m. to say that Steve had gotten on the first flight to Kathmandu and was on his way. About 30 minutes later Steve called us from Kathmandu to tell us that Wongchu had met him as he stepped off the plane and that they were driving to the Yak and Yeti. Steve will no doubt enjoy the breakfast buffet at the Yak and Yeti as well as a hot shower before his Thai flight home to Bangkok this afternoon
We have enjoyed relaxing these two days and nights in Namche. Restaurant Manager Raju Rai has been a good friend of Berg Adventures for many years and he takes care of us. His attention and smile are amazing. Life is good here!
