Beaches of Brazil Exploration Dispatch
October 12, 2008 – Our Journey Continues
Each day brings scenery and relaxing exchanges with local people
We traversed the dunes in 4-wheel drive buggys
The simple patterns and colors of the sand and water are beautiful
There is a feeling of endless skies and sand
Fresh water lakes always are so appealing
After taking a boat along the tidewater we stopped for a gourmet lunch of fresh fish at the boat captains home
The daughter of our boat captain was very
welcoming and a treat to have around
The Enstein Monkeys came down from the trees and joined us for lunch
A charming young girl offered to be our guide as we strolled the streets in the village of Mandacaru
Leila takes a moment to get to know our local guide
The group gets prepared to take a small plane on an aerial view of Lancois
From the air one can really appreciate the size of this remote land of water and sand
Leila ends her idyllic trip with an evening walk on the beach
