Why climb with Berg Adventures

Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch

October 20, 2008 – We’re back! Photos sent from Namche Bazar

It is October 20th and the team has arrived back in Namche Bazar! We woke this morning at Ang Temba and Yangzing’s lodge in Pangboche. Memories of the rock and ice of the Khumbu Glacier and Everest Base Camp are still fresh for us; we only left two days ago. Pangboche has been a great home for us on this trip and it was hard to say goodbye and get started down the trail for Namche.

Jerome, Danny and Mingma have not had enough. Those guys left early this morning from the lodge and went to visit Ama Dablam Base Camp! They caught the rest of the group for lunch along the trail past Tangboche. Now the entire group is back at Zamling Lodge in Namche, staying with our friend Tsedam Sherpa and his family.

Tomorrow we will stay in Namche, taking a “rest” day. There will be plenty of time for shopping, the internet and spending more time with our good Sherpa friends before we head back down the trail toward Phakding on the 22nd.

After Jerome, Danny and Mingma left for Ama Dablam Base Camp, the rest of the team got a more leisurely start.

We saw this amazing sight, a huge bolder still perched on ice, near base camp.
