This private expedition has been dreamed about and planned for many years. John’s Bank first set his sights on Aconcagua, the highest mountain in both the southern and western hemispheres, after he climbed Elbrus with Berg Adventures in 2009. John’s has stayed with climbing regularly through all the intervening years, but this trip is special: Aconcagua is the highest so far for John and he will be doing the climb with his daughter Kara Banks.
It is summertime in the high Andes. Osvaldo, Sergio and Maria started driving south for Mendoza on December 19th. Check the pages below to follow some of the scenes and adventures as John and Kara’s team as they climb toward the summit of the Americas
