The country of Morocco is rich with breathtaking landscapes, imperial cities, ancient architecture and fantastic trekking. Many different groups of people over many centuries have had a hand in shaping the Kingdom of Morocco into the mystical place that it is today. The unique blend of African, Arab, European and the indigenous Berber influences have come together to create a truly fascinating place. From the bustling souks (markets) of the historic cities to the old villages set along the hillsides of the Atlas Mountains, Morocco is full of exotic adventure that will open your eyes to a beautiful corner of the world.
Our itinerary in Morocco offers three fantastic adventures combined to make one grand journey. We will explore the historic and architecturally rich cities of Marrakesh and Fes, ride camels through the Sahara Desert and spend a night in a luxury camp amidst the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, and finally trek in the stunning High Atlas Mountains with the goal of summiting Mount Toubkal at 13,671ft/4,166m.
Climbing Mount Toubkal will certainly be a trip highlight. We will hike past well-preserved fortresses, Berber villages and green valleys to experience incredible views of the High Atlas mountain range from the summit of Morocco’s highest peak.
To climb Mount Toubkal you need to be in good physical condition, but no climbing or mountaineering experience is necessary. The ascent is not technical, but consists of walking on paths with large boulder sections. Good cardiovascular conditioning and strong hiking muscles will make your trip much more enjoyable.
