Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch
May 1, 2012 – A Rest Day Earned in Pheriche (14,300 feet)
Dave and Joanne made the long trek to the village of Pheriche, home to the highest altitude hospitals in the world. They will stay at the lodge in this quiet little village for two days, resting, replacing calories, and participating in the free 2-hour clinic on high altitude. This informative session is provided by volunteer doctors who spend the spring season at the hospital to provide care and information on effects of high altitude for trekkers and climbers passing through.
After a couple of days, Dave and Joanne will make their way to the next village of Loboche. Stay tuned as we follow their travels and adventures to Everest Base Camp!
