January 30, 2012 – Celebrating Our Last Night on the Mountain

Looking back at Kilimanjaro

Hi this is the dispatch for January 30, 2012 from Mweka Camp in Tanzania. Today we headed down from the crater. After having breakfast we broke camp and headed down into the valley. Today, we came all the way down to the rainforest zone of the mountain passing through the alpine desert and “moon land”. The staff has been amazing and for our final dinner, they made us a surprise cake to celebrate. The campsite staff has been so great with their kindness and attention to dinner. It has been such an amazing trip, but it is still not over.

This is our final dispatch from the mountain, so we wish you all well and look forward to our next adventures with Berg!
