Thanks to an inspiring essay answering the question "What's your Everest?", LaQuishia Stone, winner of the Hanesbrands essay competition at George Washington Carver High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is on her way up the Khumbu to experience the excitement and challenges of life at Everest Base Camp. Her Hanesbrands-sponsored trek will be documented by the award-winning film crew from The Gillder Frontier and her story will be told by acclaimed adventure writer, Stephanie Pearson.
Stay tuned to the dispatches as LaQuishia explores Nepal and connects with the local Nepali students and Berg Adventures friends along the way. Join the team with their chief guide, Ang Temba and the rest of the BAI trekking staff, as they walk in the shadow of the greatest mountains on earth, visit the colorful villages and monasteries of the Everest Region, and celebrate new experiences each day.
