Why climb with Berg Adventures

LaQuishia Stone and the Hanesbrands Team EBC Trek Dispatch

May 5, 2010 – Photos from our Summit Success on Kala Patar and Arrival at Everest Base Camp

Early morning on May 4th, from the outpost village of Gorak Shep, our team left to attempt to reach the summit of Kala Patar, 18,500ft/5,640m above sea level. Our summit team consisted of LaQuisha, Theresa, Adam, Paul, Stephanie, Matt and Mike Abbott along with Khare Rai and our Sherpa team. LaShonda, Kenny, and Geoff, along with BAI guide Ang Nuru took the direct route up the glacier to Base Camp.

By 1:30 in the afternoon we had arrived at Base Camp where we found LaShonda and the rest of our trekking team waiting for us. Jamie ran out to greet us and we felt very welcomed as we arrived. The end of a long journey! It was a very proud moment for our team.

Even though the climb was tough, LaQuisha was smiling nearly the whole way up. Stephanie takes a break for water near the top.
