Aconcagua Expedition Dispatch
January 14, 2019 – Successful Trip to Camp I (Plaza Canada)
Rick and John just keep rolling along. Today they made their first trip to over 16,000 feet on Aconcagua, "Plaza Canada".
Osvi reports that the weather is unsettled. The guys certainly had a cloudy day and there was some light snow. But they were strong and they had a good first carry on the mountain - no mules from here!
Now they are back to the comforts of Plaza de Mulas. The weather reports look good long term and they have lots of time. We will post these photos from today for now. Soon it will be dinner time at Plaza de Mulas and we hope Rick and John enjoy a good meal and a good night’s rest. Well done!

Leaving Plaza de Mulas

Slow and steady. Osvaldo sets a good pace.

Along the way our boots and our gear were appropriate.
