October 5, 2017 – Crossing the Ecuador Line
Just before 10am this morning, our Ecuadorian mountain guides Joaquin and Christian met us at our place and we did some gear organization. Colette went out with the group and walked around the streets of the old town just to give the team an orientation.
We will spend more time in Quito old town when we will be back. We drove north and by 12pm we were standing in the Ecuador line. We enjoyed listening to a lecture from a university student. I saw Rob moving around with his hands and calculating and admiring how the earth is moving and how the sun is moving and what is rotating where. It is all fascinating, looking at the calendar, the clocks and the charts. How it changes through the year.

View of Quito from rooftop of our hotel. Yesterday was a long night - we are all excited to be here!

It was crazy, but fun getting off to the mountains- with all our Galapagos gear in tow. Lot of bags!
