June 26, 2015 – Barbara Calls in From 4,600m
Hello, it’s Barbara. I’m on the top of a mountain, close to the top of Kilimanjaro.
It’s day 4 on our trek up and William and I are doing really well.
William is enjoying it. He is going a bit faster than my “pole pole”. But he seems to not be having any trouble with that. He is enjoying spending time with the guides and the porters so that’s all great.
We are at 4,600m at our camp; we will acclimatize to 4,800m which is good news because neither of us feel particularly different than we normally do. So all is wonderful, we are loving the food! We are trying to not eat too much because it slows us down when we walk and if I went any slower you wouldn’t see me for another month or two.
We are loving the people, they are sooo great to us! The guides and the porters are absolutely lovely.
You cannot believe how beautiful this is!
Everything is great, hope everything is fine.
Bye!
