Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

February 12, 2014 – The Team Begins Climbing on the Umbwe Trail

“Hello this is Fredy 1- guide for Bharath, Sheila and Doug’s climb. It is the first day on the trails and the group has arrived to their first camp – Umbwe Cave Camp. They have had their first dinner together tonight at 9,760ft (2,975m). They had a good day walking the trail with an elevation gain of about 1,000m.”

Tomorrow the group will continue on to Barranco Camp where they will have some amazing views of Kilimanjaro towering above them!
