Why climb with Berg Adventures

Sutterlin “Spinal Health International – Klimb 4 Kidz” Kilimanjaro Climb and Safari Dispatch

August 31, 2013 – A Photo Recap of Our Trip to the Top of Kilimanjaro

Looking back, it is hard to believe how much we did on this “Family Vacation” on Kilimanjaro.

You will see smiles – and some grimaces – on these photos of our team high on Africa’s tallest mountain.

We reached new heights – altitude records – for Colleen, Landon and Autumn. It was a challenge, bigger than we had expected; to go all the way to the top and experience standing above the continent of Africa at Stella Point and Uhuru Peak. We could not have been successful without the strength, dedication and humor of the Berg Adventures Tanzania Staff – all 46 of them!

We moved closer to the summit from Karanga Camp, at elevation 13.100 feet on August 29.

Bryan led the way for Colleen, Autumn and Landon as we climbed higher.

The truth is, Autumn did not break a sweat during this entire climb. Her daily runs back in California clearly paid off.

It is hard to believe that we did this in only 5 days. Here is an excited – and cleaner – team with Emmanuel and Arnold after we’d packed our bags at the hotel back in Arusha.
