Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

August 19, 2013 – Summit Success!

Hello to everyone following the Berg Adventures Kilimanjaro dispatch. Today was a full day; we started to walk at 6:30 am today. It took us only 5 hours to get to Stella Point. Everybody came to Stella point happy and smiling! We had lunch at Stella Point and then continued on our summit walk and at 1:45 pm we got to the summit of Kilimanjaro which is called Uhuru Peak.

It was a successful day and everyone was smiling and happy to be on Kilimanjaro. Ayaaz and his wife Salma went down to the Barafu camp today after the summit because they decided it would be better to be down on the mountain where the air is thicker. The rest of the group; Jason, Josh, Alyssa and Zeanna are going to stay overnight at the Crater Camp; a very beautiful and unique opportunity! We will go down tomorrow morning to meet with Salma and Ayaaz.
