September 15, 2012 – Joe’s Farewell To Tanzania From Ngorongoro

Hi, this is Joe from the three-day safari trip. This is our last day here, unfortunately, but we had a tremendous trip to the Maasai village yesterday when we arrived at Ngorongoro crater. It was a fantastic chance to see their culture and a great opportunity to go shopping. This morning we went down on the crater where we were quickly entertained by seeing lioness, in their element and only a few feet away from the truck we were in. It was a magical event that we just really loved… We had a great time seeing all the animals, a lot of which we have seen before. We were especially surprised when we actually got to see a black rhino just as we were leaving the crater. That completed the capture of the magical five animals. We had a real good time. I can’t express how much we have enjoyed this trip and two of us now are onto our next adventures while the remainder will stay here and go onto Serengeti. It has been a great adventure, from climbing Kilimanjaro to safari. This is a great way to see Tanzania. We really enjoyed it. Our next dispatch will be from the folks continuing on the six- day safari.
