September 11, 2012 – Joe Coughlin Calling On His Way Down From The Summit
Hi this is Joe from the Kilimanjaro team. After a very successful summit yesterday we had a great night in the Crater Camp at about 18,500ft. We had a lot of fog but once it cleared it is actually spectacular. We were lucky enough to go up to the Ash Pit, the caldera - beautiful; and it was worthwhile trip to see what this mountain is all about.
Right now we are on our way down, heading down to our low camp getting pass Stella Point, a bit foggy, so we don’t get a lot of views but everybody is doing really well. We are having a great time. It’s just been the adventure of our life.
