August 25, 2012 – Highlights of Our First Days on Safari

It is about 4:00 AM. We will walk the short distance uphill from our rooms to the lobby of our lodge in a while to have quick snacks and coffee, tea. David, Santos and Abraham are loading box breakfasts into the vehicles; we will descend into the Crater at first light to see what action we can find. Early morning is when the animals are most active.

Meanwhile here are some photos from yesterday. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Remy and Pascale, they are returning to Canada via Paris. But as we continue on our safari adventure we had a great time at a Maasai Boma (village).

Stay tuned and we will send more images of the wildlife, culture and our smiles as we continue our safari adventure.

In the morning we left Tarangire, still keen to enjoy this classic African landscape.

By 10:30 we’d reached Tarangire Gate. Remy and Pascale would continue on to Kilimanjaro International airport for their flight back to Europe.

By late afternoon we’d reached Ngorongoro Highlands. We stopped at a Maasai Boma for a visit, just before we got to our lodge.

After visiting the boma, we got to our lodge just in time to enjoy an Ngorongoro sunset.
