The Bishop Family Safari Dispatch
July 22, 2011 – A Birthday in the Crater
Hi this is Kim Bishop calling for a second time on July 22. We spent the day in the crater for Barry’s birthday and we saw a couple animals which are hard to find, among many other spectacular sights. The rare animal sightings included a cheetah which we got a photo of in the tall grass, it was hard to spot and we were lucky enough to have the camera pointing in that direction. We saw a couple rhinos which we understand are very difficult to see. That was a good way to top off Barry’s birthday today.
For lunch, we went out into the crater under an awning beside the vehicle. We had cake this evening and we had a great dinner. We are having a wonderful time. There is another family here from Seattle and another from Dubai and the kids are all about the same age, so they are having a great time sharing adventures during the day and playing pool at the Manor.
Tomorrow we go to Migration camp for a few nights. We are sad to leave our friends from Dubai, but we are very grateful to have met them and hope to go on another adventure to visit them someday!
