Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

Febuary 15, 2010 — Umbwe Cave Camp

Steve called us today from his and Lauren’s first camp on Kilimanjaro. It is a spot in the middle of the beautiful and wild Umbwe trail. Their elevation is 9350 feet /2850 meters.

“Hello, this is Lauren and Steve. It took us 5 hours to climb up here from the trailhead today. Now we are relaxing in our tent and enjoying afternoon tea and popcorn, in true Berg Adventures style, with our chief guide Julius.”
