March 21, 2009 – Team Is Acclimatizing With Great Views

Hi this is Temba calling.

The team took a rest, acclimatization day at Jangothang on the 20th

Today we are at Lingshi an altitude of 13,400 ft. We had a good morning; we woke up around 6:30 with views of the mountains.

Kit was not feeling well because of altitude sickness. She decided that it would be best to descend, so Kit, Bob and Chendu, our wilderness guide started back down the trail.

Note from BAI office : We spoke with Kit and Bob by telephone from the Kichu Resort in Paro on Monday, the 23. Kit’s altitude symptoms went away with descent to lower elevations. They told us that they spent some time Monday looking for new boots for Kit – hers did not survive the rigors of Bhutan trekking trails very well! We will report daily of what Kit and Bob are up to as they wait for Temba and the rest of the trekking group to complete their route over the high passes and back down to Thimpu.
