Why climb with Berg Adventures

Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch

October 3 -5, 2008 – Clear Skies From Gusain Kunda

At 6.00 am we climbed to the view point, very slowly and with big breaths. We finally made it to the top and what a view! Not a single cloud on the whole Lang Tang mountain range!

It was like a gift from God and I was pleased to have no headaches from the altitude. We stayed about for an hour and then we started our descent to Sing Gumba, where we would spend the night, then on to Dhunche. On the way I was starting to dream about Spaghetti Bolognese or any kind of meat. I decided to go vegetarian for the whole trip to avoid any "inconveniences", but I am done with porridge and noodle soup! Ha! Ha!

The day we left Dhunche we walked the extra 9 km to the jeep. I preferred to walk to the jeep because there was no way I would take the local bus as the road is quite challenging on the nerves. A 4x4 is the way to go in this area.

Overall it was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed seeing how the local people live and interacting with them. This remote area was a very nice area to trek. See you in Khumbu.
