Todd Pendleton is a seasoned adventurer who is climbing Everest with Berg Adventures this season. Todd has been working towards his goal of climbing Everest since he visited Nepal a few years ago. In 2011, he joined Berg Adventures in Argentina and summited Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America. In 2012, he and his girlfriend, Heather, drove from Arizona all the way to Alaska where Todd climbed Denali - the highest peak in North America. Soon Todd and Heather will embark on a new adventure as parents. They are expecting their first child this summer!

Todd has a close relationship with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and to raise money for the organization, he is bringing along a guitar given to him by Alice Cooper. When he returns home the guitar will be auctioned off! Read more about his journey to the summit of Everest below.

From Todd:

My name is Todd Pendleton and I am an Engineer/Paramedic with the Scottsdale Fire Department. I have been IAFF union member of Local 3878 for ten years. I have been given the unique opportunity to be a member of an Everest expedition. A few years ago I made a relationship with Lakpa and Tashi Sherpa in the mountains of Colorado. A year later I was visiting their home high in the Himalayas on my way to Everest Base Camp. Lakpa, an experienced climber that has summited Everest twice, recommended Wally Berg to continue my mountaineering education. Wally Berg is a renown climber that has climbed all the major mountains of the world. He encouraged me to climb Rainier, Aconcagua, and Denali in preparation for the expedition he was putting together. An Everest Expedition to coincide and celebrate the first American ascent of Everest 50 years ago and the first ascent ever, 60 years ago.

As a part time job I guide throughout the Southwest. For the past four years I have had the opportunity to guide Team In Training/Leukemia and Lymphoma Society participants. Throughout these adventures, I have made relationships with supporters, family members, and survivors. I have been truly inspired by their stories of tragedy and triumph. Their stories all have one common goal: Beating Cancer! When asked to be a part of an expedition to Everest, I immediately thought of raising money for LLS and the many people battling blood cancers! Please join me on my journey "Climb for the Cure" where we will raise money and awareness for LLS and the many people battling blood cancers. Young, old, normal everyday people are affected with and die from this disease every day. These people could be your family members, loved ones, friends, or neighbors. Leukemia also causes more deaths than any other cancer in children under the age of 20.
