Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch
April 27, 2018 – Summit of Kala Pattar!
As you can see from the first of the photos the weather has continued to be beautiful. We made it to “Gorak Shep” – the last outpost before Everest Base Camp this afternoon.
Kala Pattar is a mountain that rises above Gorak Shep and offers outstanding views of Everest. We decided to climb it in the afternoon and we reached the summit, at 18,300 feet above sea level. The weather was deteriorating a bit, but we still got an inspiring view of Everest

There are a few lodges, but we are already on the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier
