Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch

November 2, 2014 – A Special Dinner in Gorak Shep

Last night we had a great night with very special food at Gorak Shep. Our cooks made sushi! It was so great to have such a delicious meal at 16,900ft. The great meal did not end there. After we enjoyed sushi we had chocolate cake for dessert. It was fantastic!

Today we said goodbye to Ken, Phuri and Kumar as they left Gorak Shep and began their trek into the high passes of Everest. We watched as they began to make their way to Zongla for the Cho La.

The rest of us trekked to Dingboche. Tomorrow Scott, Barbara and Min will continue on to Namche and Frank, Travis, Bob, Sanduk Sherpa, Jatha and I will go to Island Peak Base Camp where we will begin acclimatizing for our climb.

We will call you from Island Peak Base Camp!
