Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch

May 1, 2014 – A Beautiful Day along the Trails from Pheriche to Lobuche

We had a beautiful morning in Pheriche today. We started to trek to Lobuche around 8 am. We first passed a baby Yak with its mom on the trail. We stoped in Dukla for some tea and hot soup and after we climbed the Dukla Hill. On the top of Dukla hill we stopped at the memorials for Sherpa and climbers who have lost their lives in these mountains.

We arrived in Lobuche in good time and everyone was feeling very well. Currently we are 16,000 feet above sea level. This evening the team is playing cards, and enjoying some popcorn, cokes and teas as we watch the snow fall lightly outside of our lodge.

I checked in with Min earlier and he said he and Dave have made it to Phakding and they are doing great!

Namaste,

– Temba
